The Pennyroyal Arts Council's camp for youth will meet Oct. 5 through 9.

The commission is now accepting nominations for awards that are presented annually at the breakfast. These include the Hal & Bettye Thurmond Award.

The touring troupe Kentucky Shakespeare will perform “Much Ado About Nothing” on Sept. 28 at the Greenway Amphitheatre.

Local museum director Alissa Keller will give the program on Aug. 27 at Hopkinsville Brewing Co.

Sponsored by the Christian County Cattlemen's Association, the rodeo raises money for college scholarships to local students.

Following Driskell's reading at the public library, Hopkinsville writer Eric Morris will lead a writing workshop based on Driskell's poetry.

The Taste of the Town, featuring food trucks, music and dancing, is planned at Founders Square, and special programming will happen at the Pennyroyal Area Museum.

Hopkinsville native Gant Gaither, an artist known for whimsical paintings featuring animals, is the inspiration for the gala.

The restaurant will serve a pizza buffet, and the museum's executive director will lead a program on Hotel Latham's history.

The Art Loop, on Aug. 22, will feature 30 artists in 10 studios and host venues.

The show is about Gander's remarkable hospitality for 7,000 stranded airline passengers following the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks.

The Human Rights Commission will present awards during an Aug. 2 event to community members "whose service, leadership, faith, and dedication have made a lasting impact on the Hopkinsville-Christian County."
