Lone Star Rodeo returning to Western Kentucky State Fairgrounds

Sponsored by the Christian County Cattlemen's Association, the rodeo raises money for college scholarships to local students.

The Christian County Cattlemen’s Association’s 27th Lone Star Rodeo is set Friday and Saturday, Aug. 14-15, at the Western Kentucky State Fairgrounds. 

Spectators will see contest events ranging from bareback bronc riding and team roping to saddle bronc riding, Brahma bull riding, steer wrestling, barrel racing, breakaway roping and calf roping. 

Rodeo Clown and Barrelman of the Year “Mighty” Mike Wentworth is among the special performers. 

Also on planned are:

  • Best dressed cowboy and cowgirl contest for children 10 and younger
  • Gold Rush for children 10 and younger
  • Chuckwagon races
  • A specialty act trick and fancy roper
  • A beer garden both nights
  • Live entertainment with Josh Weathers on Friday

The rodeo raises money for college scholarships that the Christian County Cattlemen’s Association awards to local students. 

Tickets for adults are $20 in advance or $25 at the gate. Tickets for children (ages 4 to 11) are $10 in advance and $12 at the gate. Advance tickets can be purchased online until Thursday, Aug. 13.
