Saturday’s gathering in the park alongside the public library was not the first LGBTQ event locally, but Pride in the Park was likely the most visible event of its kind to date in Hopkinsville.

Heejung Park, the group's director, said, “We are creating a space where musicians and audiences come together to experience the power of live music ... that is accessible, inspiring and uniquely Hopkinsville.”
