Don was born in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky, made most famous by John Prine's "Paradise" and next door to Ohio County, the home of Bill Monroe. His mother, whose 102nd birthday is Aug. 28, survives him.
With many studios opting to delay the release of films during the pandemic, venues like WK Cinemas in Hopkinsville compensated for the lack of new films by showing classic movies. During this “rough period” patronage at the local cinema dropped about 90%.
A dozen Hopkinsville area artists will show their works at the pop-up event in late August.
