The Hopkinsville native's 2002 book “Communion: The Female Search for Love” has seen a remarkable resurgence — thanks in part to a grass-roots campaign that encouraged readers to buy hooks’ book before Vice President JD Vance released his new memoir, also titled “Communion.”
The Chair Project raised $3,680 for Sanctuary Inc. as bidders packed Hopkinsville Brewing Co. to claim creatively remade chairs, benches and stools, while Hoptown Chronicle honored the winners of its companion chair-themed haiku contest.
The mural was installed Friday outside WB Express, a carry-out restaurant at Fifth and Main streets. Two smaller painted pieces were installed in front of the Alhambra Theatre.
