Kentucky had 131 new cases Sunday and 214 on Monday. Eight deaths were reported.

The county's total of 119 cases includes 97 people who have recovered from the coronavirus.

Kentucky had 283 new cases confirmed Friday, but the governor said that number could be high because of a Memorial Day lag in lab reports.

Democrat Wendell Lynch, a retired banker who is serving as interim mayor, will face the Republican nominee, local business owner James R. Knight Jr., in the Nov. 3 general election.

Kentucky had 113 newly confirmed cases and nine deaths Thursday.

Among local cases, 95 people have recovered after receiving a positive test for the coronavirus. Statewide, at least 3.124 people have recovered, Gov. Andy Beshear announced.

Patients will be allowed to have one visitor, and visitors will be given surgical masks to wear.

As of Tuesday, the total number of COVID-19 cases statewide was 8,951 with 387 new cases reported over the Memorial Day holiday.

As of Sunday, 89 of the county's 111 confirmed cases were recovered.
