The individual is the second known employee of Hopkinsville Community College to test positive for the novel coronavirus.

The county's case total includes 151 active cases and 269 people who previously tested positive and are now listed as recovered.

An analysis by Hoptown Chronicle shows that by mid-to-late May, visits to many public places appeared to return to pre-coronavirus levels. It was followed by a spike in local cases.

The county’s case total was 411 as of Saturday with 182 active cases, 225 recovered and four deaths. More than 20% of the county's positive tests for COVID-19 have been reported in the last week.

The health department has confirmed 84 new cases this week, the most of any week since the pandemic started.

The health department's drive-thru site provides free COVID-19 testing from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday through Friday at Tie Breaker Park.

As of Wednesday, there were 143 active cases and 218 people who have recovered from the virus, according to the health department.

Christian County has had 344 cases of COVID-19 confirmed to date. Those include 130 active as of Tuesday, 210 recovered and four deaths.

Monday's report of 20 new cases is among the county's highest single-day totals yet and follows a record-setting week.
