Saturday's report from the Christian County Health Department brings the county's total COVID-19 cases to 323 since the pandemic began in March.

Christian County reported 16 new coronavirus cases Friday, bringing the county's total to 313. Of those cases, 106 are still active.

The health department reported 90 active cases of COVID-19 and 203 people who had recovered from the illness.

Following their deaths in the winter of 1838-39, the graves of Whitepath and Fly Smith were marked by field stone and eventually became obscured by overgrowth.

The health department also reports 203 people who previously tested positive for COVID-19 are now listed as recovered.

In a week-to-week comparison, the county just finished its second largest case week with 39 new cases during the week of June 28.

Robert Celing was hospitalized for 12 days after becoming ill from a coronavirus infection. He received a plasma transfusion that a Jennie Stuart Medical Center doctor said probably saved his life.

The health department's report also includes 165 people who were confirmed to have the coronavirus and then recovered.

Park employees will facilitate the mobile spray parks and will ensure social distancing for health and safety.

A chart published by the Texas Medical Association outlines the COVID-19 exposure risk associated with a variety of activities — from pumping gas to attending a backyard barbecue to going to a bar.

Among the county's 96 active cases, 19 were in the youth category of birth to 21 years of age, while 70 were in the age range of 22 to 59.

The county has recorded 25 newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 since Monday.
