Christian County has most cases of COVID-19 for a single week

The health department reported 17 new cases Saturday, pushing the week's total to 101.

The Christian County Health Department reported 17 new cases of coronavirus on Saturday, bringing the local total to 575 since the first case was confirmed on March 19.

In the last week, the county reported more new positive tests for COVID-19 than any previous week at 101 confirmed cases, averaging 14 per day. Previously, the most cases reported in one week was 88 the week of July 12. 

The county’s total includes 177 active cases and 392 classified as recovered, in addition to six deaths. 

The number of confirmed, active cases by age group are:

  • Youth (0-21): 36
  • Young Adult-Middle Age (22-59): 95
  • Older Adult (60-84): 38
  • Elderly (85+): 8
