Former mayor Dan Kemp will lead the book talk.

The Rev. Aaron Pettus, an employee of the college, will give a talk titled "Let There Be Peace on Earth."

Ted Poston wrote the fictionalized accounts of his childhood growing up in segregated Hopkinsville as a personal project during his newspaper career. They were first published as a collection a decade after his death.

This year's Kwanzaa celebration, returning to Hopkinsville for the third year in a row, is being held virtually.

The tour will start at 1 p.m. Sunday, with three Hopkinsville fire trucks bringing Santa to several neighborhoods.

The craft activity can be completed at the museum or taken home to be completed later.

Rather than having several thousand people crowded on downtown sidewalks, the audience will drive by the parked parade.

The workshops, focused on home entertaining and led by local experts, will be in The Hall at the Alhambra Theatre downtown.
