Temperatures in the region will drop to the mid-30s by 5 p.m. Monday, and an arctic front will push wind chill temperatures to near zero early Tuesday.
Unusually wet conditions earlier this year delayed some planting on Kentucky farms, and now the long, dry spell may affect some of those late-planted crops.
The National Weather Service predicts a 40 percent chance of showers Monday, followed by a 70 percent chance Tuesday. Thunderstorms and damaging wind are possible both days.
