According to a press release from Mayor James R. Knight Jr.’s office, the meetings will offer information about building and floodplain permits needed for repairing or rebuilding flood-damaged structures.

“City staff will be available to explain the permitting process, answer frequently asked questions and ensure residents have the resources they need for safe and compliant rebuilding,” an official said in the release.

The city is waiving all permit fees related to repairs for flood damage.

Hopkinsville was inundated by roughly 14 inches of rain over a period of five days in early April. Several downtown businesses were flooded, as were residential areas that included Givens Addition and the Donna Drive area.
