Hopkinsville’s City Diplomat Program is accepting applications

Christian County residents and business owners at least 18 years old may apply until the March 13 deadline.

Hopkinsville’s City Diplomat Program is accepting applications from Christian County residents and business owners, who are at least 18 year old and interested in the civic engagement initiative that seeks to strengthen connections between community members and city government.

The program, now beginning its eighth year, is “a meaningful way for residents to learn how their city works and how they can play a role in its future,” Mayor James R. Knight Jr. said in a press release.

“Each year we see participants become more informed, more engaged and more invested in Hopkinsvile,” he said.

Applicants selected for the program will meet for a series of sessions and engage with city departments to “learn how key services are delivered.”

The sessions are planned at 6 p.m. on April 2, May 6, June 4, July 2 and Sept. 3.

Applications are available online. Completed applications should be sent to diane.turner@h-ky.us or delivered in person or my mail to Hopkinsville Municipal Center, Attention Diane Turner, Administrative Assistant, 715 S. Virginia St., Hopkinsville, KY 42240.

The deadline to apply is 4:30 p.m. on Friday, March 13.
