Hip-hop artist Shaun Boothe will bring ‘history to life’ in Hopkinsville performance

This will be the first time that a smARTS program is open to the general public, giving the community an opportunity to see what local students learn through arts council’s offerings.

Hip-hop artist and TEDx motivational speaker Shaun Boothe will perform the “Unauthorized Biographer Series,” for the Pennyroyal Arts Council’s smARTS program this fall.

Boothe’s show will be available for the general public at noon Wednesday, Oct. 29, at the Alhambra Theatre. This will be the first time that a smARTS program is open to the general public, giving the community an opportunity to see what local students learn through arts council’s offerings.

Boothe “brings history to life with an unforgettable fusion of music, storytelling and multimedia,” states a press release from the arts council. “His ‘Unauthorized Biography Series’ celebrates world-changing cultural icons — including Bob Marley, Malala Yousafzai, and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. — through documentary-style music videos and live rap performances.”

“All of the icons I profile share one key trait: leadership,” Boothe said in the press release. “They overcame barriers, made bold decisions, and paid high prices to stand for something greater. Their stories teach us that success is born from struggle, and greatness comes from growth.”

Tickets for the Alhambra performance are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 18. Tickets will be sold at the door only.
