City officials made 41 appointments to various boards and commissions Tuesday night at the start of a new two-year term for Hopkinsville City Council.
The appointments were made through executive orders by Mayor Wendell Lynch, who presided at the council’s videoconference meeting. Lynch said all of the council’s sessions will be virtual through at least January because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The 12 council members and several city employees made up most of the appointments. Others were filled by local residents.
The appointments are as follows:
- Rachel Diuguid Smith to Planning Commission to fill the unexpired term of Steve Keel ending Dec. 31.
- Councilman Tom Jones to Pennyrile Solid Waste Management Authority for a term ending Dec. 31, 2024.
- Kelley Workman reappointed to Surface and Stormwater Utility Board for a term ending Dec. 31, 2024.
- Bradford Carroll appointed to Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library Board to fill the unexpired term of Matthew Handy ending Aug. 31.
- Carter Hendricks reappointed and City Administrative Officer Troy Body appointed to Industrial Development Authority for terms expiring Dec. 31, 2022.
- Chris Gilkey and William T. Turner reappointed to Historic Preservation Commission for terms ending Nov. 30, 2024.
- Mark Gary reappointed to Hopkinsville-Christian County Airport Board for a term ending Nov. 30, 2024.
- Parks and Recreation Superintendent Tab Brockman reappointed as mayor’s designee to the Hopkinsville-Christian County Conference Center Corp. for a term ending Dec. 31, 2024.
- Michael Stalls reappointed to the Board of Zoning Adjustment for a term ending Dec. 31, 2024.
- City Administrative Officer Troy Body reappointed as mayor’s designee to the Hopkinsville-Christian County Ambulance Service Board for a term ending Dec. 31.
- Chief Financial Officer Robert Martin reappointed as mayor’s designee to the Westwood Senior Homes Board for a term ending Dec. 31.
- Councilman Jason Bell reappointed to the Hopkinsville Cable Television Oversight Authority for a term ending Dec. 31.
- Councilman Jason Bell reappointed to the Board of Appeals for a term ending Dec. 31, 2022.
- Councilman Travis Martin reappointed as mayor’s designee to the 911 Advisory Board for a term ending Dec. 31, 2022.
- Councilmen Chuck Crabtree and Steve Keel appointed to fill unexpired terms of Don Ahart and Paul Henson on the Future Funding Review Committee.
- Councilman Terry Parker reappointed to the Hopkinsville Electric System Board for a term ending Dec. 31, 2022.
- Councilman Travis Martin appointed as mayor’s designee to the Housing Authority of Hopkinsville Board of Commissioners for a term expiring Dec. 31, 2022.
- Councilman Phillip Brooks appointed to the Hopkinsville Solid Waste Enterprise Board for a term ending Dec. 31.
- Councilman Tom Johnson reappointed to the Hopkinsville Water Environment Authority Board for a term ending Dec. 31.
- Councilwoman Patricia Bell appointed to the Inner-City Advisory Committee to fill the unexpired term of Darvin Adams for a term ending June 30, 2022.
- Councilwoman Natasha Sophia Francis appointed to the Little River Water Quality Consortium for a term ending Dec. 31, 2022.
- Councilman Tom Johnson reappointed as mayor’s designee to the Christian County Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee Advisory Board for a term ending Dec. 31.
- Council members Chuck Crabtree and Kimberly McCarley appointed to the Pennyrile Solid Waste Management Authority for terms ending Dec. 31, 2022.
- Councilwoman Patricia Bell appointed to the Hopkinsville Surface and Stormwater Utility Board for a term ending Dec. 31.
- Councilman Terry Parker reappointed as mayor’s designee to the Christian County Weather Spotters Board for a term ending Dec. 31.

- Chuck Crabtree, Retired Senior Volunteers Program Council.
