The topic for the next ARTalks presentation at the Janice Mason Art Museum in Cadiz is “Ghosts of Western Kentucky: An Evening of Haunted History.”
Western Kentucky University professor emeritus Tamela Williams Smith, who grew up in Trigg County, will be the guest speaker.
The free program begins at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 24, at the museum, 71 Main St.
“Smith has spent decades researching and exploring tales of the supernatural and unexplainable in Kentucky,” organizers said in a Facebook post for the event. “For the past several years, she has been gathering firsthand accounts of unexplained encounters at Western Kentucky University while also researching the land’s history for an upcoming book. Her interest in the paranormal began in Trigg County where she grew up surrounded by eerie local tales.”
The Janice Mason Art Museum, located in the old Cadiz Post Office, is open from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and from 1 to 4 p.m. Sundays. The phone number is 270-522-9056.
