Taylor, of Hopkinsville, is the former 8th District state representative. Prior to holding office, he was a senior project manager in economic development for the Tennessee Valley Authority. He also held positions in public relations, marketing and community development.
Constitution Day was enacted in 2004, recognizing Sept. 17, 1787, as the date delegates to the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia signed the U.S. Constitution. Today, the U.S. Department of Education requires programming about the Constitution around this date in all schools receiving federal funds.
