Video: Hopkinsville Brewing Company owner discusses plans for growth

Hopkinsville Brewing Company owner Kate Russell gives Hoptown Chronicle a quick tour of the brewery’s recently acquired space.

Hopkinsville Brewing Company owners Kate Russell and Joey Medeiros have purchased the former Upton’s Body Shop building adjacent to their brewery on Fifth Street. They plan to expand the business and hope to complete renovations by late fall.

Russell and Medeiros hope to use the extra space for patrons and brewing operations, including expanding the number of taps. Currently, there are eight.

The brewery secured approval for the expansion in January from the Board of Zoning Adjustment.

Russell took a few minutes this week to give Hoptown Central’s Jennifer P. Brown a quick tour of the brewery’s recently acquired expansion space. It is the former Upton’s Body Shop adjacent to the brewery on Fifth Street.

“It’s not going to be exactly the same look as the current Hopkinsville Brewing Company, but it will flow and be a smooth transition,” Russell said about the new space.

The brewery — the city’s first — opened in September 2016, after nine months of renovations.
