Ascend Elements invites potential workers to Hopkinsville job fair

The job fair will be April 10 at Hopkinsville Community College's Emerging Technologies Center.

Ascend Elements will host a job fair from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, at Hopkinsville Community College to accept applications for 40 positions at its new manufacturing plant.

A company press release says Ascend is seeking “skilled technicians, production operators and engineers,” for its facility under construction at Commerce Park II on John Rivers Road.

The electric vehicle battery materials manufacturer will eventually employ 400 workers at its $1 billion facility

The Hopkinsville facility will be “North America’s first cathode precursor (pCAM) EV battery materials manufacturing plant,” the release states. “Until now, EV battery pCAM and CAM materials have been almost exclusively made in China.”

Those attending the job fair at HCC’s Emerging Technologies Center should bring their resume and expect to meet hiring managers. Computers will be available to submit applications. Applications can also be submitted early online

“We’re building America’s EV battery materials infrastructure, which is a big deal for national security and energy independence,” Mark Fern, plant manager at Ascend Elements said in the release. “We are seeking experienced professionals and men and women transitioning from the military as well as high school graduates and anyone looking to launch a career in the EV battery materials industry.”
