Hopkinsville organizations, including schools, churches, clubs, businesses and arts groups, are planning numerous holiday events for Thanksgiving, Christmas and the New Year in Hopkinsville.

Free Pictures with Santa
- When: 3-5 p.m. Nov. 15, 16 and Dec. 6, 7
- Where: Herb Hays Furniture, 2519 Fort Campbell Blvd.
Children and Santa-friendly pets can have a free photo taken with Santa in the store.
Hopkinsville Art Guild Christmas Bazaar
- When: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov 22 and 23
- Where: Carnegie Library, 708 Liberty St.
Christmas Bazaar, featuring unique gift items made by 20 local artists, will include woodwork, photography, pottery, paintings, clothing, hand-painted cards and more gifts.
Blitzen at the Bruce
- When: 4-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25
- Where: Bruce Convention Center, 303 Conference Center Drive
Santa Claus and one of his reindeer will be present for photos, along with an artisan’s market, and cookies and hot chocolate at the Bruce Convention Center. Tickets at the door are $15 for children and $5 for parents.
Community Thanksgiving Service
- When: 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26
- Where: Freeman Chapel CME Church, 137 S. Virginia St.
Freeman Chapel will host this year’s Community Thanksgiving service sponsored by Christian County Ministerial Association. The Rev. Becky Durham, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, will give the message.
Turkey Trot
- When: 8 a.m. Thanksgiving Day
- Where: Starting downtown on South Main Street near Founders Square
Hopkinsville’s Turkey Trot, the annual Thanksgiving Day run or walk, attracts hundreds of participants. Preregistration, online by Nov. 15, is encouraged but not required. There’s no fee to participate. Thanksgiving-themed costumes are appreciated. The route goes through downtown and portions of the Hopkinsville Greenway.
Third annual Small Business Saturday Craft Fair
- When: 1-5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30
- Where: Hopkinsville Brewing Co., 102 E. Fifth St.
At the brewery, a showcase of local crafters, artisans and small business owners selling everything from popcorn and quilts to macrame jewelry and holiday decor: come downtown from 1-5pm to see a variety of wares – they’ll be showcasing everything from quilts to popcorn to macrame jewelry to holiday decor.
Hoptown Holiday Hopfest
- When: 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30
- Where: Alhambra Theatre, 507 S. Main St.
The band Max Weinberg’s Jukebox will play for this year’s Hoptown Holiday Hopfest, an annual fundraiser for the Alhambra. Audience members get to choose from more than 200 classic rock songs. Tickets, available online, are $60.
Community Christmas Concert
- When: 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6
- Where: Performing Arts Center, Christian County Middle School, 215 Glass Ave.
The Pennyrile Area Community Band will present its Christmas concert. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted.
‘The Nutcracker’ ballet
- When: 6:30 p.m. Dec. 6 and 7, 2:30 p.m. Dec. 8
- Where: Alhambra Theatre, 507 S. Main St.
The Pennyroyal Arts Council and Brooke Bailey Dance Addiction & Gymnastics present “The Nutcracker” ballet. Tickets, for $10 to $20, sold online.
Homes for the Holidays
- When: 2-5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7
- Where: South Main Street and Alumni Avenue
The tour, a collaboration of the Hopkinsville History Foundation and the Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County, will feature five historic residences. Tour tickets are $25 and can be purchased through the museum’s Shopify store.
Holidaze Community Festival
- When: 4-6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9
- Where: Bruce Convention Center, 303 Conference Center Drive
The Holidaze Community Festival is a free event for pre-kindergarten through sixth-grade families. Holiday activities, food and pictures with Santa.
Holiday Sweet Sampler
- When: 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12
- Where: Pennyroyal Area Museum. 217 E. Ninth St.
The Supper Club: Holiday Sweet Sampler featuring sweet treats to sample from various cultures with help from several local cooks. Part of an ongoing series to inspire cultural and culinary conversations. Sponsored by Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County and the Human Rights Commission of Hopkinsville-Christian County. Cost, $10. Tickets through the museum’s Shopify store.
‘A Christmas Carol’
- When: 7 p.m. Dec. 12-13; 2:30 p.m. & 7:30 p.m. Dec. 14; 2:30 p.m. Dec. 15
- Where: Alhambra Theatre, 507 S. Main St.
Campanile Productions presents the musical of “A Christmas Carol.” Tickets available online.
Hopkinsville Christmas Parade
- When: 5:15 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14
- Where: South Main Street through the heart of downtown
The theme for this year’s Christmas Parade is “Let There Be Peace.” The sponsor is Hopkinsville Electric System and EnergyNet.
Holiday Sweets and Treats Market
- When: 3-7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14
- Where: Hopkinsville Brewing Co., 102 E. Fifth St.
Holiday Sweets and Treats Market featuring food and unique gifts by Black-owned businesses. Organized by Vansauwa’s Tacos and Vegan Eats. A children’s craft center will be hosted by the Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library.
Santa Claus is Coming to Hoptown
- When: Beginning at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15
- Where: All of the city’s residential streets
Santa Claus, riding on a Hopkinsville Fire Department truck, will be cruising through the city with a Hopkinsville Police Department escort. His route will cover every residential street. Follow his progress on a map with street-by-street turns highlighted to see when Santa is approaching your neighborhood.
Singo: Best of Christmas
- When: 6:30 p. m. Wednesday, Dec. 18
- Where: Hopkinsville Brewing Co., 102 E. Fifth St.
Singo, the holiday-themed musical bingo game, is all about Christmas songs. No charge to play. This is a family-friendly event.
Sons of Serendip: Christmas Beyond the Lights
- When: 7 p. m. Thursday, Dec. 19
- Where: Alhambra Theatre, 507 S. Main St.
A Christmas concert by Sons of Serendip, a classical crossover quartet. Tickets, available online, are $50 for general audience; $38 for students and military.
Movies at the Alhambra
- When: 10 a.m., 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 23
- Where: Alhambra Theatre, 507 S. Main St.
The Pennyroyal Arts Council will show three classic holiday movies — “Home Alone” at 10 a.m., “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” at 3 p.m. and “It’s a Wonderful Life” at 6 p.m.
