The coffeehouse will be open from 9 a.m. to noon on Sept. 14 to raise funds ahead of the Alzheimer's walk on Oct. 5.

The program starts at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, at Hopkinsville Brewing Co.

The Hal and Bettye Thurmond Award and other honors will be presented at the 50th Unity Breakfast on Oct. 24.

“Metamorphosis: Hopkinsville in the 1910s” is the gala theme that organizers hope guests will use to fashion their attire for the evening.

The BIG BEE Spelling Bee for adults is Thursday at Hopkinsville Brewing Co.

The family musical will run Aug. 8 through 11.

The Human Rights Commission of Hopkinsville-Christian County, the local museum, Pioneers Inc., Black-owned food vendors and Hopkinsville Brewing will be involved in the emancipation celebrations.

Many of the local artisans whose work is featured at the downtown Hopkinsville store will be on hand to talk about their work.

The Pennyroyal Arts Council series of six musical shows runs from late September to early May.

The Saturday workshops are planned in August and September.

Food trucks and activities for children will start at 7 p.m. on Fourth of July at Ruff Park.
