Volunteers are invited to help clean headstones on Tuesday, Sept. 17, at Union Benevolent Society Cemetery on Vine Street.

One-of-a-kind pottery beer steins, created at Brushy Fork Creek Gallery for Hoptoberfest, will be featured. Events will include the beard and stein-holding contests and an adult spelling bee.

Burse grew up in Hopkinsville the youngest of 12 children and became a Rhodes scholar after earning his bachelor's degree at Centre College.

Guests will find activities and booths related to wildlife, the botanical garden, bees, the butterfly garden, birding, storytelling, rain gardening, a petting zoo, pumpkin painting, canoe rides, corn hole, disc golf, face painting and hayrides.

Headline music acts are the Jimmy Church Band on Friday and Parmalee on Saturday.

The Sept. 27 golf scramble will raise money for several charitable causes that the Knights back.
