Supper Club: A bonnie taste of Scotland

Graham and Heather Dawson, proprietors of The Mixer restaurant, will demonstrate Scottish dishes that are favorites in Graham's family.

The next Supper Club, a program hosted by the Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County and the local Human Rights Commission, will take guests on a culinary tour of Scotland. It’s scheduled at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 13, at the Pennyroyal Area Museum, 217 E. Ninth St.

Graham and Heather Dawson, proprietors of The Mixer restaurant in downtown Hopkinsville, will prepare their favorite Scottish dishes and share some of “their favorite family recipes that traveled across the pond with Graham’s family,” Supper Club organizers said in a press release.

“Heather and Graham will demonstrate dishes, and guests will have the opportunity to taste and experience the cuisine,” the release states. “Folks will take home a recipe and any unique ingredients required to cook the dish at home.”

The purpose of the Supper Club is to “explore the diversity and history of our community through food,” and it’s open to anyone “who loves food, conversation and learning about each other through commensality, which means ’together at the table.’”

The cost to attend is $10, and tickets are available at the Pennyroyal Area Museum or online.
