Several street closures downtown will begin at 5 p.m. Thursday to prepare for the Summer Salute festival on Friday and Saturday.
The closures will be:
- Ninth Street from Seventh Street to South Main Street
- Bethel Street from Seventh Street to 10th Street
- Eighth Street from Main Street to Bethel Street
In addition, a Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation staffer said one lane of Main Street will be closed between Seventh and Ninth streets.
The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Bands, vendors and events will be centered around Founders Square at Ninth and Main — and on Saturday also at the Christian County Justice Center parking lot.
Anyone who has business Friday at the Justice Center will need to enter the parking lot from Seventh Street.
