Severe weather affecting Hopkinsville area

A tornado watch was in effect for Christian County until 1 p.m.

Portions of Western Kentucky, including Christian County, are under a tornado watch until 1 p.m. Thursday, officials at the National Weather Service at Paducah said.

A tornado warning was also issue for a part of southeastern Christian County, from Oak Grove to Pembroke and just south of Fairview. The warning area extended into southern Todd County, including Trenton, Guthrie, Elkton, Allensville and Daysville. The warning expired shortly before 11:30 a.m.

A tornado watch means conditions are favorable for tornadoes to develop. A warning means a tornado has been sighted or is indicated by weather radar.
