Public schools cancel in-person learning Wednesday

The district announced a shift to NTI and the cancellation of extracurricular activities after the National Weather Service issued an ice storm warning.

Christian County Public Schools will not have in-person instruction Wednesday because of a predicted ice storm — but that won’t translate into an old-fashioned snow day for students.

Instead, the district will shift to Non-Traditional Instruction, better known during the pandemic as NTI. And students who are enrolled in the Virtual Learning Academy will continue their normal school work from home.

“In addition, all extracurricular activities are canceled, and there will be no food services,” district spokesman John Rittenhouse said in a news release. “We will continue to update you on the status of in-person learning on a day-to-day basis.”
