“The council was in full agreement with Mr. Bentzel’s choice to hire Ms. Malone as principal,” the release states.

Malone has 21 years of experience as an educator. She began working for Christian County Public Schools in 2010. She taught at CCHS and then became a building assessment coordinator and instructional and behavior coach. She became the assistant principal in 2014. Previously, she taught at schools in Clarksville and Bowling Green.

Malone will fill the vacancy created when Kevin Crider stepped down to become assistant superintendent for the local district. Crider was principal for roughly 10 months. He replaced Matt Boehman, who left CCHS last summer to become an assistant superintendent in Trigg County.

Malone is a graduate of Austin Peay State University, Western Kentucky University and Murray State University. She holds two master’s degrees in education, the release states.

“I am honored to be entrusted with the responsibility of leading the dedicated staff and incredible students we have at Christian County High School,” Malone said in the release. “I am committed to working alongside our teachers, parents, and community to support all of our students in achieving their highest potential.”

Malone and her husband, Russell, live in Hopkinsville. They have three children, Mason, Taylor, and Avery.
