Oak Grove added to health department’s temporary sites for COVID-19 testing

Two test days are slated in Oak Grove. There is no charge to be tested, and any Kentucky resident may be tested.

The Christian County Health Department is adding another temporary location for drive-thru COVID-19 testing.

Testing will be available from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, and Tuesday, May 26, at the Oak Grove Community Center, 1705 Thompsonville Lane, the health department announced.

There’s no charge for testing, and anyone is eligible regardless of whether they have coronavirus symptoms. Testing is available to any Kentucky resident and to out-of-staters who work as first-responders in Kentucky.

The Oak Grove option is in addition to another temporary site in downtown Hopkinsville, in the parking lot adjacent to 512 S. Clay St. Testing was conducted there Monday and will be available again from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday, May 18.

In addition, the health department offers testing six days a week at Tie Breaker Park, 4400 LaFayette Road. Testing at that site is done 9 to 11 a.m. Monday through Friday and 8:30 to 11 a.m. Saturdays.
