In addition to Juleps, Jockeys & Jazz, the Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County is hosting History on Tap, a Riverside Cemetery walking tour and Saturday Sleuths, a children's program.

A beard contest, stein-holding competition and spelling bee are planned, and Camo Caravan will be serving food during at the brewery.

The free performance of "The Tempest," by Kentucky Shakespeare, will be on Sept. 17 at the Hopkinsville Greenway Amphitheater.

The pow wow features dance and drum contests and numerous other Native American cultural performances at the Trail of Tears Commemorative Park.

The artist chosen for the Pennyroyal Arts Council project will guide 10 students during a five-day camp in October to create a downtown mural related to Hopkinsville history.

Among several offerings, the Pennyroyal Arts Council and Charlotte’s on 6th will host La Rambla, an evening of Spanish-inspired art, wine and music,

Whitehead will be in Hopkinsville on Aug. 28 for the History on Tap program about another book she has written, "The History of the Kentucky Derby in 75 Objects."

Topic range from summer cooking and horse racing, to aliens, historic preservation and two of the city’s best known creatives. 

Margaret Prim will prepare "traditional summer favorites" at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, at the Pennyroyal Area Museum.

The former Kentucky poet laureate is recognized for coining the term Affrilachia to highlight the diverse experiences and contributions of Black residents in Appalachia. 

The play is being performance in August at Murray.

Genesis Allen, a rising junior at Hopkinsville High School, designed the mural for FabLab at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Hopkinsville-Christian County.
