A former special education teacher and guidance counselor for Christian County Public Schools, Poindexter had been serving as interim principal at HMS since August.
A $10 million grant that Christian County Public Schools received in October is not part of the federal relief money now in question in school districts, said Superintendent Chris Bentzel.
The driver shortage isn’t a new problem, but the coronavirus pandemic was a “perfect storm” that escalated the challenge of staffing 96 bus routes in Christian County, said Mike Brumley, who has been the district’s transportation director for 12 years.
