HHS principal Gunn is stepping down at end of school year

The school's site-based council will meet April 12 to begin the process of picking a new principal.

Hopkinsville High School’s principal, Dr. John Gunn, is leaving his job at the end of the school year, according to a Christian County Public Schools press release issued Monday.

Gunn made the announcement to his staff last week, the release states. Officials did not state a reason for Gunn’s resignation.

“The district greatly appreciates the work Dr. Gunn has put forth in leading Hopkinsville High over these last four years,” Superintendent Chris Bentzel said in the release. “We wish him all the best of luck in his future endeavors.”

The HHS site-based council will meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, in the school’s media center to begin the process of selecting a new principal. Under state law, site-based council meetings are open to the public.
