Knights of Columbus seeking golfers, sponsors for 19th annual Hopkinsville scramble

The Sept. 27 golf scramble will raise money for several charitable causes that the Knights back.

Plans are in the works for the Knights of Columbus’ 19th annual Charity Golf Scramble on Friday, Sept. 27, at Hopkinsville’s Western Hills Golf Course.

The men’s charitable organization, which is affiliated with Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, uses proceeds from the golf scramble to support several local causes, including Trace Industries, Hands of Hope, Aaron McNeil House, Alpha Alternative, Wreaths Across America, Camp MARC, Special Olympics, Pennyroyal Veterans Center and food baskets for local families at Thanksgiving and Christmas.

There are two ways to help with the golf scramble — by entering the event or by sponsoring a hole.

Businesses and organizations can sponsor a hole for $100.

“We will prepare and post a sign with your company name at a hole of your choice at Western Hills,” organizers said in an informational flyer. “The sponsor list is displayed prominently on the golf course leader board and on scramble material.”

The entry fee for golfers is $65, which covers green fees, cart, beverages and lunch. The shotgun start for the four-person scramble is 1 p.m. The Knights will provide performance prizes and gifts for the golfers.

Checks for entry fees and donations should be sent to Knights of Columbus Council 7847, P.O. Box 1215, Hopkinsville, KY 42240.
