Country musician Easton Corbin will headline Hopkinsville’s Summer Salute as the downtown festival moves to the last days of summer and potentially cooler weather than attendees have endured in recent years.
Summer Salute is slated for Friday, Sept. 12, and Saturday, Sept. 13, Parks and Recreation Superintendent Toby Hudson announced in a press release. The calendar shift is about three weeks later than the free music festival has been staged since it was established in 2016.

The music lineup will include:
- 6 p.m. Friday — Saved by the Music, a high-energy, ’90s music tribute band that hails from Hopkinsville.
- 8 p.m. Friday — Shining Star, a Chicago-based Earth, Wind and Fire tribute band.
- 6 p.m. Saturday — The Frontmen, comprised of country music legends Larry Stewart, of Restless Heart, Richie McDonald, formerly of Lonestar, and Tim Rushlow, formerly of Little Texas, opening for the headliner, Corbin.
A Florida native with an “unmistakable voice and storytelling style,” Corbin is known for hit songs such as “A Little More Country Than That,” “Roll With It” and “Marry That Girl.”
All of the shows are free to attend.
Hudson said Summer Salute is “Hopkinsville’s largest annual festival and a celebration of community, fun and local flavor.”
More than 70 food, beverage and merchant vendors will be on site, along with the Kids Zone inflatable bouncers and the Fun Zone carnival attractions.
A beer garden will open at 2 p.m. each day.
Traditionally the festival has been set up in Founders Square, the public library parking lot, in Little River Park along Bethel Street, and on Ninth Street from Main Street to the Christian County Justice Center.
