Hopkinsville NAACP invites public to meet new chapter officers

The gathering will be June 6 at the Hopkinsville College of the Bible.

The Hopkinsville chapter of the NAACP is inviting the public to meet the organization’s new officers during a program at 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, at the Hopkinsville College of the Bible, 125 N. Vine St.

The program is an “effort to get local churches involved in the renewed battle for equality in America,” organizers said.

The officers, who were installed on March 28, are:

  • Terri Redwine, president
  • Willie Canty, first vice president
  • Nicki Chambers, second vice president
  • Patricia Davie, third vice president
  • Natasha Francis, treasurer
  • Tracey Brumfield, secretary

Canty said the local chapter is also having a membership drive. Anyone interested in joining may ask officers about signing up at the June 6 gathering or at a monthly chapter meeting. Those meetings are at 5 p.m. on the first Monday of the month at the Christian County Sheriff’s Office, 701 W. Seventh St.

The NAACP is the nation’s oldest civil rights organization.
