Campanile Productions is selling tickets for its new show, “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,” which runs Aug. 8 through 11 at the Alhambra Theatre.
The family musical, which is entirely sung, is based on the story of Joseph and his coat of many colors from the Bible’s Book of Genesis.
“Featuring a variety of musical genres, lots of dancing, and plenty of laughs, this show is all about being playful, silly, and of course, as flashy as that technicolor coat,” a Campanile representative said in a press release.
Anna Beth Riggs is the show director. The cast includes several veterans of Campanile and some newbies, include several in the children’s chorus.
Audience members are invited to dress in their flashiest attire.
Show times are 7 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Aug. 8, 9 and 10, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11. Tickets, available online, are $20 for standard seating and $25 for premium. If available, tickets will also be sold at the door. In addition, patrons may “pay what you like” to attend dress rehearsal at 7 p.m. Wednesday prior to opening night.
A bonus is planned for the Saturday show to celebrate the community theater company’s 15th year in Hopkinsville. After the “Joseph” musical, Campanile alumni will “reprise some of their iconic roles” from past shows.
