bell hooks Book Club to meet April 21 at Hopkinsville museum

The book club, open to anyone interested in learning more about bell hooks, is discussing "All About Love: New Visions."

The next gathering of the bell hooks Book Club is planned at 6 p.m. Monday, April 21, at the Pennyroyal Area Museum, 217 E. Ninth St.

Hoptown Chronicle is one of the sponsors of the book club, along with Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County, the Christian County Literacy Council and the bell hooks Legacy Group.

The book club is designed as an informal group that comes together to discuss Hopkinsville native bell hooks and her extensive work as a writer, cultural critic and feminist icon.

The group is starting a discussion of bell hooks’ 2000 book, “All About Love: New Visions.”

“This New York Times bestselling book offers the truth about love in an expansive context and gives inspiration to help us instill caring, compassion and strength inn all our interactions,” museum executive director Alissa Keller said in a press release.

The book is available to check out from the Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library or to purchase from the museum gift shop, The Vault by Planters Bank, and through its online shop on Shopify.
