Hopkinsville Brewing Co.’s 10th annual Hoptoberfest begins at noon on Saturday, Sept. 19, with the release of a new Hoptoberfest beer. Several activities continue throughout the afternoon and evening.
The stein-holding contest — sponsored and judged by CrossFit Serenity — begins at 3 p.m. There are three divisions: adult men, adult women and youth 17 and under.

An adult spelling bee is planned at 5 p.m. This year’s spelling bee is open to individuals and teams of two to four people.
The beard competition starts at 7 p.m. with three categories: full beard, partial beard and artificial beard.
In addition, the brewery and Paul and Patricia Ferrell’s Brushy Fork Creek Gallery will continue their annual Hoptoberfest collaboration with the sale Saturday of custom pottery beer steins. Each of the 44 steins is unique with different colors and flora imprints. The price is $42.
The brewery is on Fifth Street between Main and Virginia streets. Hoptoberfest continues until 9 p.m.
