Nearly 4,000 vote early in Christian County

Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. for Tuesday's general elections.

Heading into Tuesday’s general election, nearly 4,000 Christian County voters took advantage of early voting to cast their ballot.

During the early-voting period Thursday through Saturday, 3,996 ballots were cast in Christian County, according to a report on the Kentucky State Board of Elections website. That accounts for approximately 8.6% of the county’s 46,392 voters. The early voters included 1,946 Democrats and 1,836 Republicans.

In addition, 70 voters cast a ballot during in-person absentee voting.

Election officials reported that 397 mail-in absentee ballots were sent to Christian County voters, and approximately 70% of those had been returned as of Monday.

Across Kentucky, the total of in-person early and absentee voters was 438,602, Kentucky Lantern reported.

“Republican Secretary of State Michael Adams said on X that turnout in the last midterm election year, 2022, was 337,975, so voting this year was about 30% higher,” McKenna Horsley wrote in the Kentucky Lantern story. “The absentee and early voting turnout in 2023, a gubernatorial election year, was 313,009. Kentucky voters set the highest early voting and absentee record in 2024 with 792,476 votes ahead of the presidential election.”

Christian County polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday. A list of the 13 voting centers and the races on the ballot are available in this guide for voters.
