Hopkinsville residents will experience heat indices ranging from the upper 90s to above 100 degrees this week, according to the National Weather Service forecast.
Tuesday’s heat index is predicted to reach 95, following by 98 on Wednesday, 100 on Thursday and Friday, 103 on Saturday and 99 on Sunday, the NWS office at Paducah states in a Facebook post.
The heat index is what the temperature feels like to the human body. It is based on air temperature and humidity.
In addition, there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms throughout the week.
