Kelly Selfe, arts education director for the Pennyroyal Arts Council, has accepted a new position as executive director for the Janice Mason Art Museum in Cadiz, where she will oversee exhibitions, programming, operations, fundraising, community partnerships and strategic growth.

“Her extensive background in arts education, nonprofit programming, community outreach, and leadership makes her exceptionally qualified to guide the museum into its next chapter,” Janice Mason board president Todd Wallace said in a press release. “Kelly’s passion for the arts and her commitment to the Cadiz community align perfectly with our mission of enriching lives through artistic and cultural experiences.”
Prior to working for the arts council in Hopkinsville, Selfe was a visual arts educator for 23 years in the Franklin (Tennessee) Special School District. A graduate of East Tennessee State University, she is also a National Board Certified Teacher.
Selfe said she is honored by her selection and excited to serve as executive director. She and her husband reside in Hopkinsville but are building a house in Cadiz.
“The museum is a treasured cultural asset for Cadiz and the entire region,” she said in the release. “ I look forward to working alongside the Board, volunteers, artists, supporters, and community partners to expand educational opportunities, celebrate creativity, and continue building meaningful connections through the arts.”
The Janice Mason Art Museum is housed in the former Cadiz Post Office building on Main Street in downtown Cadiz. It is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 1 to 4 p.m. Sundays.
