Delta Sigma Theta plans Community Impact Day of Service

Community members are invited Saturday to the James E. Bruce Convention Center to learn about resources available for local families.

The Hopkinsville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority is inviting local residents to its Community Impact Day of Service from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26, at the James E. Bruce Convention Center.

The free event is designed to “inform the community of resources that are available in Christian County,” sorority member Gwenda Motley said in an email to Hoptown Chronicle. “Our goal is to make an impact for citizens through service by inviting vendors/organizations to come together one day, at one location to receive information about services available throughout the community.”

More than 30 vendors will be present representing organizations such as the Christian County Literacy Council, Jennie Stuart Medical Center, Visit Hopkinsville, UK Healthcare, the Christian County Health Department and Sanctuary Inc. In addition, Christian County Public Schools and Hopkinsville Community College will be present.
