Mayor James R. Knight Jr.’s office is accepting applications for the City Diplomat Program, which is open to Christian County residents and business owners interested in learning about the inner-workings of city government.
Participants will meet at 6 p.m. on May 28, June 25, July 23, Aug. 27 and Oct. 22 to “engage with a dynamic curriculum including classroom sessions, interactive demonstration and hands-on activities aimed at equipping them with the tools to effect positive change,” states a press release.
The program is a “fantastic way for residents to engage with their local government and understand how their city operates,” Knight said in the release.
The deadline to apply is 4:30 p.m. on Friday, April 18. Applications are available at the Hopkinsville Municipal Center, 715 S. Virginia St., or online. Applications should be returned by mail to Diane Turner, Administrative Coordinator, 715 S. Virginia St., Hopkinsville, KY 42240; or to Turner’s email, diane.turner@h-ky.us
Applicants who are accepted, and those placed on a waiting list for future sessions, will be notified by May 2.
