CDS slates special Plan Review Committee meeting on data centers

CDS is finalizing language for a data center zoning ordinance that will be forwarded to Hopkinsville City Council for its consideration.

A proposed data center zoning ordinance will be discussed during a special called meeting of Community and Development Service’s Plan Review Committee at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Christian County Courthouse, 511 S. Main St.

CDS is finalizing its recommendations for a data center ordinance that will be forwarded to Hopkinsville City Council for its consideration.

The meeting agenda also includes a “transition update,” which refers to a number of changes for CDS following a push by Mayor James R. Knight Jr. to transfer most of the agency’s operations into a new branch of city government. As a result, CDS has moved from city hall into newly rented office space at 311 W. Ninth St.

Thursday’s meeting, which is open to the public, will be in the historic courtroom on the second floor of the courthouse where Christian Fiscal Court and the Board of Elections hold meetings.
