Women with Christian County ties appointed to state commissions

Gov. Andy Beshear announced appointments for Stephanie Bolen and Betty Baker-Wharton.

Gov. Andy Beshear has appointed two women with Christian County ties to state commissions, according to a press release. 

Stephanie Bolen, of Crofton, was appointed to the Kentucky Commission on Women for a term expiring on Jan. 17, 2026. Bolen is an assistant commonwealth’s attorney in Christian County. 

Betty Baker-Wharton was reappointed to the Kentucky African American Heritage Commission for a term expiring on Feb. 1. 2026. She is a microbiologist at Jennie Stuart Medical Center. 

Their appointments were among 27 made to various boards and commissions that the governor announced on Friday, May 13.
