Christian County reports 6 new coronavirus cases

The total number of local cases includes 220 classified as active and 660 classified as recovered.

The Christian County Health Department reported six new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, pushing the total number of local cases confirmed since the pandemic began to 894.

It’s the third day in a row that the seven-day average of new cases has been eight, which is 37.8% lower than two weeks ago.

The county still has more progress to make, though, according to a recent White House Coronavirus Task Force report. Last week, it ranked Christian County among 14 counties in its “red zone,” where new cases of the virus numbered more than one per 1,000 residents and the share of residents who tested positive during the week was more than 10%.

The total number of local cases includes 220 classified as active and 660 classified as recovered. Since the pandemic began, there have been 14 coronavirus-related deaths, with the most recent reported Monday.

The active cases by age group are:

  • Youth (0-21): 59
  • Young Adult-Middle Age (22-59): 121
  • Older Adult (60-84): 36
  • Elderly (85+): 7
