The Christian County Health Department reported 17 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases on Monday, raising the county’s total to 592 people who have tested positive for the disease caused by the novel coronavirus since the pandemic began in March.
The total includes 184 active cases and 402 people who are classified as recovered, in addition to six deaths.
The number of confirmed, active cases by age group are:
- Youth (0-21): 38
- Young Adult-Middle Age (22-59): 97
- Older Adult (60-84): 42
- Elderly (85+): 7
Last week, the county had 101 new positive tests for COVID-19 — the most in a single week so far with an average of 14 per day. Previously, the most cases reported in one week was 88 the week of July 12.
The health department provides free COVID-19 testing at a drive-thru site from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday through Friday at Tie Breaker Park. Drivers enter at the Stadium of Champions on LaFayette Road just south of Eagle Way.
