Western Kentucky is under a severe thunderstorm watch until 6 p.m. Sunday.

“A line strong to severe storms with the potential to produce damaging winds and large hail will move across southern portions of southeast Missouri, far southern Illinois, and southern portions of western Kentucky this afternoon,” the National Weather Service outlooks states. “Locally heavy rainfall and lightning can also be expected with any thunderstorms today.”
There is a 90% chance of severe thunderstorms in the Hopkinsville, according to the NWS forecast.
Some afternoon storms could be severe and produce large hail and damaging winds.
