Who will light Hopkinsville’s Christmas tree?

The city is taking nominations for the honorary tree-lighter.

Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation is looking for someone to flip on the lights for the community Christmas tree lighting ceremony on Friday, Dec. 10 at Founders Square.

Nominations are being taken on the agency’s Facebook page. The person’s name may be submitted with a description, in 25 words or less, about why they should do the honors this year.

“We’re looking for someone with a ton of holiday spirit to be our switch-flipper …,” the Facebook post says.

The deadline to post a nomination is 5 p.m. on Dec. 3.
