A water main break over the weekend in downtown Hopkinsville forced several detours for traffic.
A boil water advisory was issued for Hopkinsville Water Environment Authority customers from 904 to 1100 S. Main St. HWEA lifted the advisory Sunday morning.
Traffic initially was blocked at Ninth and Bethel streets, Ninth and Virginia streets, and South Main and Fourth streets.
By Saturday evening, only one restriction to traffic remained in place — on South Main Street between Ninth and 10th streets.
A Kentucky Transportation Cabinet spokesman said in a press release that Main Street would remain closed at least through the first of the week while asphalt repairs are made.
