Thunderstorms, damaging wind possible late Friday

The National Weather Service says thunderstorms are possible between 11 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday.

Severe weather is likely in the Hopkinsville area late Friday and early Saturday, the National Weather Service reports.

“Some storms could be severe, with damaging winds,” the forecast from the NWS office at Paducah states.

Thunderstorms are possible between 11 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday. But the rain should end well before the Hopkinsville Christmas parade that begins at roughly 5:30 p.m. Saturday on Main Street. Temperatures will dip to 28 degrees Saturday night.

Two high school ballgames tonight have been canceled because of the chance of severe weather — the Christian County High School home game and the Hopkinsville High School game at McCracken County.
